/Sigh....

First there was the DS(phat, as its now called), then the DSlite - which didn't improve anything to do with graphics, performance, etc. It just "looked better" and they moved some stuff around, making it akward, uncomfortable and light(in a cheap sorta way). NOW theres the DSi announced.

It's smaller, lighter, (therefore cheaper feeling), and even worse designed. It seems to look a lot like if you took a DSlight, put it in a compacter, and smooshed it. The slot for the games appears to be on the underside of the screen portion of the handheld.

However, it does, from the video seem to be a lot more graphically capable and more responsive to the touch then the others. It seems to have a SD slot, which will probably have the same uses as a PSP's SD slot, saving files (however this seems like an easier way to pirate DS games... but...). Also it looks like it has a camera on the front (much like a camera phone).

It's currently set to launch spring 2009 in europe (article here). Which means we'll be getting it around... summer or fall 2009. Unless its a global release.

Im currently undecided about whether or not to get one...

  1. as it turns out the DS game slot is were it should be, and they have removed the GBA game slot to make room for the SD slot. Also it has 2 camera's, one on both sides
